سام ويربرغ : لا ندعم توسع الحرب بين لبنان و “إسرائيل”

أشار المتحدّث الإقليمي باسم الخارجيّة الأميركية سام ويربرغ الى اننا “لا ندعم توسع الحرب بين لبنان و إسرائيل، ونضغط لاحترام الخط الأزرق وعودة السكان الى منازلهم على طرفَي الحدود”.
وقال المتحدّث الإقليمي باسم الخارجية الأميركية في حديث تلفزيونيّ : “لا ندعم شن عملية عسكرية على رفح، وأي عملية يجب أن تأخذ بالاعتبار وجود مليون مدنيّ هناك”.
واعتبر أنّه “يجب أن نبدأ المناقشات مع حلفائنا في المنطقة بالنسبة لما بعد الحرب ولدينا بعض المبادئ : “لا” لإعادة الاحتلال في قطاع غزة، “لا” لأي تقليص في الأراضي الفلسطينية في قطاع غزة، و “لا” لأي تهجير قسري للفلسطينيين من أراضيهم في قطاع غزة”.
The regional spokesperson for the US State Department, Sam Warburg, stated, “We do not support the escalation of war between Lebanon and Israel, and we are pressing for respect for the Blue Line and the return of residents to their homes on both sides of the border.”
In a televised interview, the regional spokesperson for the US State Department also said, “We do not support a military operation in Rafah, and any operation must take into account the presence of a million civilians there.”
He considered that “we should start discussions with our allies in the region regarding post-war scenarios, and we have some principles: ‘No’ to reoccupation in the Gaza Strip, ‘no’ to any reduction in Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip, and ‘no’ to any forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands in the Gaza Strip.”
